Marry, Shag, Cliff [Jul. 28th, 2009|08:18 pm]
[Tags|, , , ]

Meme shared by waxrose with characters Akira (Nobuta wo Produce), Yamada Tarou (YT Monogatari) and Momo (Kimi wa Petto)

1) Comment to this and I will give you 3 people.
2) Post this meme with your answers.
3) Provide pictures and the names of the 3 people.
4) Label which you would marry, shag, and throw off a cliff.

Momo played by Matsumoto Jun
Surely this is one pet you want to keep around, right? Someone you can feel at ease with and be yourself around. He'll comfort you and compliment your cooking ^^

Akira played by Yamashita Tomohisa

What a nutjob. However, when he's into you, he's pretty sweet and slightly possessive/protective. He would be a fun fling, I guess, but possible too annoying to have around all the time.

Throw off a cliff:
Tarou played by Ninomiya Kazunari

Uh. He's selfless y'see.... so he'll make way for Momo and Akira and throw himself off the cliff  XD
And man, have you ever seen such an asexual character!?

Any sensible person would marry Taro because he's family orientated, probably. His character is lovely, but has no appeal for me whatsoever! If not for that, I would have totally put Momo in "shag" (because his hair is mojya mojya!) and Akira in "cliff" because I expect his Akira Flap would save him.  GYAHAHAHA
Fly, my pretty, fly!

Man, I should write in this thing more often. Wouldn't want anyone to think I'm some kind of nonsense spam journal. Nonsense maybe....

I'm very keen on the direction my (yes, MY) stormy boys seem to be taking recently. I am loving both the a-side and the b-side to the boys' latest offering, Ashita no Kioku and Crazy Moon Kimi wa Muteki. Although, I think the latter is mostly because they all look supercool in the PV. Some really ace choreography, and perspex floor NAISU . And I was ever so proud and impressed with myself when I watched/read some of Arashi's comments about Ashita no Kioku and found that I had understood the sad but positive message of the song *pleased* Tangentally from that point, a friend burned some interesting American TV show for me, and wanted to give me a film too, and whilst they both sound like my kind of thing, I took them but said I literally did not watch anything these days which isn't a subbed Japanese show. Absolutely seriously. I watched a borrowed American film a couple of months ago just because I felt bad hanging on to it for so long, but I have zero motivation for anything that isn't Arashi/JE/Japanese (in that order of priorities XD) I followed Dollhouse for a while since I like Whedon's stuff, but then just sort of kept forgetting to acquire new episodes. I wonder if this is unhealthy. I do feel like my Japanese is improving a bit though. If I could claim to have become fluent in male conversational Japanese, that'd be GREAT.

Am I sure I'm not a bot? [Apr. 18th, 2009|04:22 pm]

Does anyone else think that the new look Megaupload captcha images are a bit too difficult to read? Or is it just me?

I think it'd be ok if they used a different font, but sometimes the letters are so severely rotated so that they overlap, I can barely read them. And I'm fairly sure I'm human...

May 2009 Update: Yay. They changed it.

I know this is a totally random and meaningless post, but...

Am I the only person ever who has wanted to sing 「 や・ら・しや・ら・しい For dream! 」?

Just braindumping this mostly irrelevant musing here.

YAY Arashi no Shukudai-kun gaps being filled by taijiproject means that I can burn off some of the episodes soon. (Not that all the AnS episodes aren't still on my computer; I rewatch them quite often, but they're on my dodgy back-up partition on an old hard drive with known problems, so could get blasted at any moment...)
Although I think it's more than likely all the newly subbed episodes won't fit in the spaces on the DVDs I've already burnt :/ Some of the episodes (mostly done by other subbing teams) are much larger than the first TechniTeddy encoded ones. I may need to insert some CDs in the middle. I'm really tempted to re-burn the whole lot when they're all contiguous though. Then I can change the naming system if the first 3 discs. Yes, such silly things do bug me as I'm possibly a little bit obsessive compulsive.

Also, there are THREE Kodomo no Bangohan episodes from Mago Mago Arashi left unsubbed. I really want them to get done so that I can burn them all off together. I'm not expecting the whole series to get subbed any time soon for nice, neat burning in order, so I reckon I'll hold out for the "set". I actually don't download the regular Mago episodes because I know that if I do, they'll end up sitting on my hard drive forever when I can't bring myself to delete them or to burn them off in some kind of random order *sigh* It'd be so much easier if I wasn't so neurotic.

Dear 田中圭さん、

I just want to marry you. Is that ok?

Isn't his kanji ace? So neat, simple, and angular.

He was so cute and geeky in Maou. I think I first really grew to like him after watching some promo stuffs though; a VTR to Toma on Ousama especially, and the Maou Ikemen feature on Akashiya-san Channel.

I've been downloading random other things he's been in. Mo Hitotsu Sugar and Spice and Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi.

I've also gone back and rewatched things from before I really knew who he was, like Hana Yori Dango Returns where he is Sara's potter fiance and Gokusen in which he is the game store thief from the more prestigious school. I'll have to dig out Orange Days at some point too. These are only quite small roles though, so you don't get to see much of him, but it's nice to see that his acting career is really progressing. I'll definitely get hold of his other newer dramas where he appears more prominently when I have some time.

I kinda wish he really wore glasses though, like in Maou *possibly has a geek fetish*

I want to marry him so I can call him Kei-kun, which I think sounds awesomely adorable :3

Just got back from holiday(s) to Eastern lands and went to some effort (though they were scanned a tad wonky as I need to calibrate my scanner, and some of them I scanned before wiping down the scanner bed, so some are more specked than others ... but I'm not really bothered to fix any of these problems right now) to share my Johnny's shop photos, as well as some other Harajuku idol shop photos. Obviously, they are for "evaluation" purposes only, so I've watermarked the crap out of them :D

Gimme pictures!Collapse )

Quick file joining tutorial [Sep. 4th, 2008|03:24 pm]
[Current Location |inbetween work]

[Current Music |LAB]

Every time I see a split file releases I wonder if every single person out there uses HJSplit as recommended. Because I don't. In reality, I hate downloading little programs to clog up my system unless I know them to be particularly light weight applications (even if I'd like to make neat little vid-gifs :P). I would definitely rather use inbuilt or multipurpose software packages where possible.

Some people might think this is a lot of hassle, but I personally prefer it to having a ton of different programs, which all do one job each -_-;

Joining split files with Windows (XP)

Brief instructions:
> On the start menu bar select "Run..." and enter "cmd"
> Choose the drive (and folder) containing the split files
> Type "copy /b filename.001+filename.002+filename.003 targetfilename.avi"

copy[space]forward slash[space]the first filename[plus symbol]the second filename[plus symbol] the third filename[space]the filename you want

You can't put spaces in the filenames, including the split files you want to join. See below.

- I have a downloading drive to avoid fragmentation, but others might need to download to a more obvious location to make this process easier i.e. so you don't have to type out all the folders to get the filepath.
- Type the drive letter with a colon to access different partitions e.g. "C:" for C drive, "D:" for D drive.
- Type "cd [folder name]" to get into a folder, and "cd.." to go down one level (folder) in the current path.

- I rename the split files before joining them so that it's quicker to type. I usually have 0.001, 0.002, 0.003 etc.
- If the desired filename is long, I often copy it before renaming the split files so I can easily paste it in afterwards.

So mine usually look like this after I go into my G drive:

copy /b 0.001+0.002+0.003 Arashi.avi

It would be nice if this helped at least one person. I learnt this from another online tutorial, but they hadn't mentioned about spaces or really hammered home how important the format of the command was, which led to me doing a lot of trying and failing -_-;
